Indian Prime Minister unveils values of Yogic practices for a healthy well-being

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of the #7thInternationalYogaDay in the early hours of morning of #21June 2021, delivered a splendid speech unveiling the importance of Yoga and its practices.

Opening his speech with a remarkable address regarding the existence and importance of Yoga, he said that despite the country reeling under the intense on-going health crisis caused by the COVID pandemic, #Yoga has emerged as the way and hope of life to live and the COVID-19 hasn't deterred the excitement and enthusiasm towards this healthy practice. Fondness for #Yoga has increased multi-fold in the last one and half years.

He wished for a greater mental and physical well-being and abundance of health for each and everyone across India and the world during this critical phase. When the impact of the disease started showing its appearance in 2020, then no one had any idea on how to deal with it and during that crisis, Yoga emerged as a healthy medium to fight the criticality of the pandemic.

Breathing exercises like #Pranayaam #AnulomVilom #Bhrastika #KapaalBhaanti helps in strengthening the respiratory organs and eliminating any kind of blockages. He encouraged citizens to live with #Yoga and inculcate this as a #healthypractice in #dailyroutine. Yoga strengthens mind and body by stimulating ultra energy, and removes any kind of obstruction and impediments for a free flow of energy throughout the body.

Quoting one of the phrases of the great Tamil saint Thiruvalluvar- "Noainhaati Noaimudhal Naati AdhudhaNikkum Vaainhaati Vaaippach Cheyal," he mentioned the importance of Yoga and said, "Testing of the disease, its causes and finding cure and remedies to eliminate it, is must" but, #Yoga acts as a medium of healing for any ailment or a disease further. Scientists and researchers across the world are actively studying the subject and its benefits on health in a wider perspective.

Unveiling other benefits, PM Modi said that Yoga leads us from stress to strength, negativity to creativity and from sickness to a healthy living. It builds strength and tells us that we have infinite solutions to treat any disease and sickness and the biggest source of energy lies within us. It is a proven way to experience life and realisation of oneness.

Adding the verse of the great poet Rabindranath Tagore on Yogic Practices, the Prime Minister narrated Tagore's views in quotations- "The meaning of our self is not to be found in its separateness of God and others, but in the ceaseless realisation of Yoga, of union." #YogaSadhna (#Yoga followed by #Meditation) helps in attaining a holistic health benefit. It not only helps in achieving higher consciousness, internal and physical stability but has other benefits too, like, attaining peace of mind, emotional and mental stability.

He further asserted saying that India believes in the mantra of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'- The world is one family and we must spread the goodness and good practices to create a healthy world.

He also announced the launch of M Yoga App in collaboration with the United Nations and World Health Organisation which will have yoga training videos in different languages to embrace the practice of #Yoga across the world-"One World, One Health".

Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address at the United Nations in the year 2014 had proposed to consider 21st June as the International Yoga Day.

People from all walks of life practice Yoga for their healthy well being. It should be encouraged at every level- schools, colleges, offices (private and public) and so on for at least 15 minutes a day.
